Ok so my buddy (honestly, not me haha) took the LSAT after a month of loose study. Got a 157. She has a 2.7ish GPA. Well today she won a $725 discount for a full-length testmasters course.

She's looking to go to a Tier 2 school in the Southeast -- Ark, LSU, Ole Miss, etc. She said she wants to go to school this year. I think a June LSAT would still work, right? And if she positively surprises herself skip a year.

She is hesitant to retake. Convince her otherwise.

have her go to law school predictor, type in her lsat and gpa. then have her do it again with an lsat of 165.

Those are 3rd tier numbers. Unless your friend is committed to practicing in the state she goes to law school and that state happens to be Mississippi, retake.

What does she want to do with a law degree?

If she has never take Testmasters before, i highly recommend that she take it. If she did, don't waste any more money retaking it.

Number 1 reasons: its the difference between going to a school of her ultimate desire or a school she's just gonna torture herself with for the next three years.
For girls, its analogous to between choosing Matt Damon or whoever she fantasizes (law school of her dream) and Danny DeVito (law school she settles for with her current score) for boy friend. (Pretty sure she doesn't fantasize Danny Devito, no offense to Danny)

Isn't the Testmasters discount an attempt to convince somewhat intelligent people to pay through the nose for lessons that could be learned more quickly and cheaply from the Powerscore series?

Never taken a prep course and this isn't an endorsement. It just happens to be testmasters. Her ultimate goal is to practice in NC or SC -- not sure what type of law though. I'm trying to convince her that $800 now = $1000's more in the future because of better school --> better job prospects. Thanks guys.
