Being proactive...

So i'm very interested in attending Fordham and I noticed on the interview with the Dean of admissions that he recommends visiting and calling to show interest if you have been waitlisted and hope to get off. I have not heard anything back yet but do you think its worth trying to visit/schedule a meeting with admissions beforehand to hopefully avoid being waitlisted? my numbers are very borderline...
