Columbia Request for Fall Grades

I got an email requesting my fall grades from Columbia after an initial review of my file, numbers = 172/3.6, but my graduate school program is based on year end exams worth 100% of my grade, and so I responded asap to the email detailing that information and received an email same day saying it had been added to my file. Is the fall grades request a good thing and do you think I'll be in a worse off position as I have no grades to show them due to the weay grades go at my grad school? Is it a good thing that they initially reviewed my app and were interested enough to ask for my grades? Any thoughts would be awesome!

It means they took an additional step to request more grades when they could have rejected you. That's a good sign, I think. You're still in the hunt.

It's strange that they're asking for fall grades since you're a grad student, and your LSDAS GPA is set in stone. Maybe it was a batch e-mail sent to all borderline applicants that they're still considering.
