Any harm that may be done with "170, 168" will also be done with "170, Cancel". In both cases, either the adcomm will wonder why you haven't continued to try to get a score that supposedly reflects your ability, or they won't care at all. I say stick with it, because on the off chance you scored better, you'll be into some better schools, while the 170 you already have isn't going to be damaged by a 168.

Unless you're targeting HYS, do this:
Identify the experimental section and eliminate it from consideration.
Based on your practice test averages and how well you think you did on each of the graded sections, estimate the best you could possibly have done in each. Add up the number wrong.
This is your best case scenario.
Now, based on that same PT average and intuition, try to estimate the worst you could possibly have done -- don't be unrealistic, but be harsh on yourself.
This is your worst case scenario.
Take the average of the two. Let's call this the "likely outcome." For simplicity, let's just say that there's a 50:50 shot you did better or worse than this.
Now, figure out what your score would be under a -9, -10, -11 and -12 curve.
How would you feel about getting your likely outcome on a -9 curve? On -12? Weigh the incremental benefits and costs of these results and think about it for 2 or 3 days. Then make a decision. Since you still have one more attempt, you should probably not be too risk averse. Most schools take the highest score and you can always write an addendum. A slight drop would be more of a soft factor whereas a slight increase could push you into the 99th percentile.

Which is about 171.
I retook, felt really ambivalent at first, but ultimately kept the score and did not regret it.
No one can make the decision for you. I would let the lingering emotion and stress pass and then think really hard about it. You have 7 days. I think it might be a worthwhile risk.

Your life is over. With a 170 your not even going to get a look at t20. Stick to
thomas cooley.

I cancelled during the test today. I have a 169 and felt like a harsh curve would have really killed my chances of scoring any better and possibly resulted in a lower score.

I agree with the other poster a 170 167 = 170 cancel.

I better suggest you not to retake the test as 170 is good score, wat if u get less score when u retake the test .
U need to think about this.......

Cancel your score. No wait, cancel, then retake, then cancel again, yeah, that's it.

Wait it out. If a 170 ends up being your highest score, the schools that will be in your range will take the highest score anyway. You don't gain anything by cancelling, but you do lose the potential for a higher score, which is why you retook in the first place.

Probably a drunk idiot who is drinking away his pain for failing to reach a 145, judging by his ability to use entire words and punctuation. This isn't a literary paper, but come on. Respect your audience.
