Top Law Schools

I have struggled to find substantial material comparing and contrasting US and Canadian law schools. Does anyone have any information/sources on this topic?

Particular questions I have are:

Is there a comprehensive North American law school ranking?

How do top Canadian schools stack up against top tier US schools (General consensus, your personal opinions, industry and academic experts)?

Given the much lower cost of tuition compared to the majority of US schools (resident tuition factored in), how does this impact the value or return on investment factor of Canadian versus US schools?

There are so many factors in play that this question is almost impossible to answer. Suffice to say: it depends what kind of job you get, where you live, and how you fund your education.

Canadians aren't into ranking things (especially schools) as much as Americans are. While there are rankings of Canadian law schools they don't really mean much. Whereas, as I'm sure you're perfectly aware, status sometimes seems like the be-all-and-end-all of U.S. legal education.

The internet wisdom is: go to school where you want to work. If you want to work in Canada then go to a Canadian school. If you want to work in the states, go to an American school. While some Canadian grads do end up in the states the numbers are such that it would be silly to bank on this as your definite career path.
