Properly disclose in a criminal conviction addendum, discuss in said addendum how much time has passed and that you have matured against them, and then blanket schools as much as possible so that even if some reject you for this you've applied to others that won't.

Keep in mind you can't both claim innocence and that you've matured since then at the same time, that'll look like you're avoiding the issue, so if you actually did this, own up to it. That'll look a lot better than trying to cover it up with doublespeak about how you didn't really mean it but you're still somehow better now.

Also, read this guide on how to write an effective addendum: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 22&t=86526 You should read the whole thing through, it'll help you understand what to write and what to avoid writing in your addendum.

why do you say "no one gives a shit"? If it wasn't important they wouldnt ask and it would not factor into the admission process.

Last cycle there was a guy who had seven or so drinking related incidents including things like driving, bar fights, disorderly conduct and underage drinking, and public drunkenness. Everyone advised him to wait and put some time between him and the incidents. We also told him to get help. He ignored us, applied widely and got into a decent school. It is hard to predict how they will react to this. But you've got a lot of time between then and now. Get a high LSAT score and apply early next cycle and you should be fine.

You need a lawyer to tell you whether or not you'll get admitted to the bar before you start worrying about whether or not schools will hold it against you.

Seems like he's in good shape.

To the OP: Can't hurt to apply. I'm not an adcom member, but if the facts of the cases were what you've given, with the amount of time that has elapsed I'd certainly not hold it against you.

Certainly as a law student I would be interested in having classmates who have experienced various run-ins with the law. It would give an interesting perspective to class discussions.

i know someone who disclosed and was asked specifically by one top school to respond with more detail...They do care.
Yeah, this. With a sufficient addendum and time removed from the incidents it shouldn't hold you back, but that doesn't mean they don't care at all.
