3.9/164 LSAT, I wasn't going to apply but I'm having second thoughts. Will applying this late help me? Hurt me?

since NYU is the "black box" of admissions, I say go for it.

good luck!

?

I think you're confusing NYU with Stanford.

Unless you have a fee waiver or you're a URM, I would save your money. Your LSAT is too low.

Your best bet for the T14 is to apply ED at UVA. They might need your GPA.

Good luck!

I applied to NYU today, even though my GPA is too low. I'm kind of viewing my apps to some of these schools like lottery tickets - the odds may be against you, but you never know for sure what's going to happen. *shrug*

It's not too late if you have the stats. If you don't...I think applying this late will hurt you. I applied around this time last year and got in so it is possible.

Applying late won't hurt you nearly as much as your low LSAT.

With a 164 LSAT, it is always too late to apply to NYU. If you really want NYU, study and retake the LSAT in June, then apply in September for 2011. If you're okay with any T14, try EDing at UVA. Penn and Michigan have been known for taking some people with numbers like yours from off the waitlist, too, but applying this late means you're more likely to just be straight rejected at either. You'll probably have to settle for the 15-30 range or else retake the LSAT and apply next cycle.

save your money, you have zero chance unless you have an ace in the hole soft

Yeah, NYU seems to be pretty big on the numbers, so I'd say you're a 95% chance rejection. Depends if you can spare the 80 bones for a 5% chance...
