Haiti / Law School

My parents are Haitian immigrants and with this Earthquake that demolished the country, we are trying to do our very best to hand a helping hand in the rebuilding process. I wanted to know what can I do in the relief effort that would stand out to LS admissions? I've donated already but I was curious on what else I could do to help that would impress LS admissions? Thanks in advance.

Helping people who wouldn't otherwise receive help = win
Helping himself out in the process = win
sounds like a win-win situation to me!

I think you should forward your question as written to adcomms. They should be able to offer some tips and tricks for you. Why guess what they want? Ask them directly!

+1 As long are you're doing as much as you can to help them out.
Edit: On second thought, that's something you should probably keep to yourself.

The universally negative response to the OPs inquiry is interesting. He wants to help the Haitian people because, presumably, the adcomms would look favorably upon him if he does. I would argue that this is good. Why are the motives behind good actions so important? Should we evaluate man not on his actions but his intentions?

I wonder how much charity would be given in this world if there was no self serving motive behind it. Yeah, what the OP is saying and planning is rather shameful, but to a lesser extent I'm sure many charitable people give for similar self serving reasons.

In law school, you'll learn that one's motive is important.

OP wasn't asking how he could help; he was asking what the
best way of helping would be for the purposes of personal gain. Of course some good could come of it, but I wouldn't want to be friends with him or anything.
