I was thinking about applying to Georgetown's part-time division and was wondering what exactly comes to mind when you hear part-time law student. Also, it's the same degree, it just takes a year longer, right? And, can we apply for both part-time and full-time to a law school?

It's the same degree that takes a year longer, but you can transfer to FT after a year if you make up 2 classes over the summer. Also you can apply to both PT and FT to GULC, but this is not the case at most other law schools.

I think there's a pride associated with it.... often it means you have a wife, family, professional job (that you'll keep at least part time hours at) and several other responsibilities you're juggling along with law school.

There is no stigma that I have heard about. It's just a matter of spending an extra year to earn a JD.
