Leave me alone, Regent.

I've gotten at least six emails from Regent asking me to apply to their "law school". Does anyone else get frustrated with the spam they receive from some schools? LSAC's school referral service is great when used legitimately, but some schools, especially the crackpot ones one Regent, abuse it.

I finally replied to the most recent one and said "Please remove me from your mailing list. I have received upwards of half a dozen emails from your institution. While I will be attending law school this year, I have no desire to so much as even consider any school affiliated with Pat Robertson." Hopefully they'll get the message.

To OP, I hope you are kidding about having sent anything less than a professional, courteous message to a school asking to be removed from its mailing list.

Just mark it as spam and have it go to junk email. It's not too tough.

Seriously, this is a guy who thinks the earthquake in Haiti is because they made a pact with the Devil. Civility be damned.

I laughed out loud when I got mail from them, realized that it's Robertson's school and that Ashcroft teachers there. Lol... you couldn't pay me to attend Regent "law school".

I get spam twice a week from Akron by snail mail, and once a week by e-mail. Honestly, it's starting to become extremely irritating.

Also, fuck Regent.

I'm a 1L and I still get E-mails from Regent. And I even tried telling them I'm gay pagan liberal. They just keep coming. Their E-mail server, it cannot be bargained with. It cannot be reasoned with. It does not feel pity, or remorse, or fear, and it absolutely will not stop, until you are dead.

...and then it mourns, briefly, and continues

Your gut reaction to an invitation from Regent is understandable, but consider this: in 3 years, when President Palin is in charge, where do you think the Justice Department will hire its lawyers from? T14? I think not. Regent will be a safer bet than HYS when it comes to finding a job.

j/k. At least I hope so...

Yeah Quinnipiac loves me, as does U.Detroit - Mercy. I feel a little left out though that I haven't gotten a chance to personally reject Robertson. :-(

+2. Regent deserves it.

Quinnipiac and Detroit-Mercy are annoying as hell, too, as is Chicago-Kent. I wouldn't send them rude e-mails, though.

Regent hasn't been bad, Kent has been horrible!

I think t-14 students will still be fine provided they wear the proper, national party insignia on their required armbands when they show up for work.

Regent and Liberty both left me alone once I told them I was a progressive homo (I did so in kind of tactful language though).

+1, this is the beginning of your professional career. Remove yourself from CRS and quit whining.

Kent sent me an email right after UChicago announced on Twitter that they'd released a round of decisions. I was less than pleased.

That brings me to what might be a helpful point--most of these schools give a method at the bottom of their emails to be removed from their mailing list. I normally don't bother, as it's not exactly taking anything away from me but the two seconds to mark the email read in Thunderbird, but it's there.

Unfortunately, no such button exists for snail mail. Aside from Regent, which I find amusing, I removed myself from all of the e-mail lists.
