New job - update the resume? Good or bad idea?

I'm a research assistant at a top university, and been here about a year and 3 months.

I just got hired as a clinical research associate (step up in title) at UCSF.

Does it make sense to update my resume? I worry that taking a new job not far before supposed matriculation looks responsible or committed. However, the job is a step-up and it shows that I'm motivated in my career drive (although the prestige of the place I'm leaving is higher than where I'm going to start).

Thoughts?

I wouldn't do it.

You run the risk that the Admissions Committee removes your file from its current position, substitutes your slightly changed resume, and then puts your file at the back of the line.

I don't think you want that.
