do i need to write one? it seems that the online applications just ask for job experience, etc... do i need a resume?

Yes, write a resume. All the deans of admissions I talked to recommended submitting one with the application.

It'll come in handy for internship and job hunting. I'm surprised you've gotten along so far without one.
