I received an invitation to apply to Stanford. Does anyone know special this is? Is it based on LSAT? Anyone else get one?

Hey Chanchito,

Congrats! I'm afraid it doesn't mean much -- I received one with a LSAT in the low 160s, GPA at SLS's median.

I didn't get one with median LSAT very-close-to-median GPA.

But it is such a waste of resources to just send it out to random people who don't have a good chance...

Can schools see your GPA from your transcript or just the 3.75 & above?

I doubt it costs more than a few dollars worth of labor and material to send each packet. If only a couple of people out of every 40 decide to apply as a result, it is well worth it from a financial standpoint. Of course, there are other non-financial benefits for the schools that send these out.

I believe schools can only see what you select with LSAC (e.g., 3.75 and above).
