Seriously, my status is 11/18 applied. It still hasn't been completed.
Should I call at this point, or are the rest of you guys seeing something similar?
edit: complete today. good luck everyone!

give a friendly call to the office. don't be curt and pester them with the "when can i get a decision?" question but call to ask if your application was received. it may also help to ask a few generic questions about the school and re-affirm your interest in attending Cornell. then you can politely ask when you can expect a response.
good luck!

you do recognize that we could still be missing stuff, and end up having to track down some missing application component in february or something right? they really should have given every application an initial look through to see if stuff is missing.

this is of course my hypothesis at this point. why did they even bother to have a status checker system?

Call them. I wasn't complete for the early action deadline (i forget what date it was but it was a Sunday I believe) even though I had sent all the stuff in weeks ahead of time. I called at around 8:30 in the morning I think and I spoke to a very helpful woman who said they hadn't received my second LOR but that it should be in transit and she said she would go ahead and Early Action Complete my file since that wasn't really my fault. I got a status checker change within a day.

my theory involves their psych department, microsoft, and david lynch.

Are you ED? If not, that might explain it. That 44% increase of applications might have something to do with it. Anyway, it's been a month and I'm still not complete at USC, I just sent them an e-mail...I'd contact Cornell if I were you, it won't hurt anything.
The admission office is quite cordial and the people are pretty nice, so there's no reason to expect a curt response.

In the cornell waiting room thread a number of people, including myself, mentioned having contacted the school about this. The general response was that they would update your status once they get to it, i.e. when they are done with the EA pile (I don't know if the EA decision date has past or not). I've been at applied since 11/20.

In fact I'd call up and just start yelling, "Where's my money."

Status still says "Applied" as of 11/17. Give it a week or so. I think their still drunk from the holidays up there in Ithaca...not much else to do up there, y'know!

It is such an elaborate flame that they accepted me, I'm actually taking classes, and paying money. It's the biggest hoax of all time. I bet they even have fake degrees printed up.

Sorry to be off topic, but I saw your avatar and it reminded me of this picture that I took and love!

I've been told to pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
