1. Accepting a full scholarship to an in-state UG, instead of heading where I wanted to be.
2. Cocaine addiction and the mess it made of my life for two years.
3. Being as cynical as I was during college.

I was mostly just attempting to mock myself lightly. I am lucky to have not endured horrible breakups.Pearalegal wrote:How does waiting for marriage stop you from having a horrible ex?Lonagan wrote: 2) that lousy ex-girlfriend ... wait, I [strike]have a boring sexlife[/strike] am waiting for marriage
And if the dog in that 'tar is their pet, then there is at least one winner at life in this thread.
And I agree with the second part. What breed is that?

1. Not putting effort into studying/school. that 3.0 GPA will haunt me for a while
2. Taking more than the minimum required math. Why torture myself with Delta Epsilon proofs?
3. That Hooker in Cabo

Mine isn't as bad as ya'lls but here it goes:
(1) Not working & committing to an actual lab and publishing a paper out of it.
(2) Taking Spanish instead of Portuguese and not studying abroad in Brazil
(3) That bitch, montoya

Re: Now that I'm applying here's what I regret
1) Taking 23 credits of 8 week classes at the same time and getting a D in like 1/3rd of them.
2) Taking that physics class + lab that required knowledge of calculus when I hadn't taken algebra yet
3) I should have way better gear on my World of Warcraft character for the amount of time I played it instead of going to lectures

1) Joining the military and ending up with two bad knees and PTSD
2) Joining the military and not being given enough time to study for the LSAT and being forced to take online courses for eight years to finish up my undergrad
3) Joining the military and ruining my marriage by being forced to recruit more knuckleheads like me for 3 years
4) Being passed over for promotion 6 years in a row because the powers that be felt that I was too focused on my education rather than the military (go figure)

Re: Now that I'm applying here's what I regret
1. Being stubborn about the thought of switching my major (Accounting) when it killed my GPA. Not to mention, I really suck at it.
2. Living in FL where my scholarship now makes you pay $350 in order to drop a class. I failed my first 3 hour exam, which was two days after the LSAT. I didn't feel like paying double for a class I wouldn't be taking. This is where number 1 comes into play. Call me stubborn.
3. Coming back to school for Finals week 4 days after a death in the family. This is where number 2 comes into play. Failed my first test in that class. Failed my final. Failed the class. Supreme fail on my part.

2. Basically blowing off the 90s.

Re: Now that I'm applying here's what I regret
1. Staying local for a girlfriend and therefore going to a commuter school that is an hour away and never making a big enough effort to meet friends after she left and therefore failing to enjoy UG as anything other than an educational experience.
2. Not torturing myself with a year plus of extensive LSAT preparation, such as reading dense writings, actually mastering logic games, etc. I studied hard but I am pretty sure I could have improved vastly if I forced myself to endure the suffering necessary!
3. Pretty much never reading any of the assigned texts at any length after freshman year other than to search for token quotes to use for essays that I less than half-assed once I realized that was almost always good enough.
O well

Re: Now that I'm applying here's what I regret
1) Not majoring in EE or meteorology like I wanted to when I was younger. History's been fun, but I think engineering would've been too, and I wouldn't feel like my educational path's completely cut me off from that now.
2) Not trying harder in HS to go to a better uni--I had the grades and SAT but not the softs or anyone driving me to do it properly.
2b) Enlisting in the military right after graduation and getting kicked out (medical), all before I even turned 18.
3) Not working harder to be fluent in German.
4) Your mom.
Edit:

This, except I could've studied harder or retaken. I put most of my effort studying into games and it showed. I'm happy with my score now and I know it's a good one, but part of me wonders how it would've been.2. Literally made me laugh out loud at work. Good thing I'm the only one in the office today.School? wrote:1 - Not being smart = Average GPA

1. Stressing the LSAT so much
2. Sucking at standardized tests
3. Not being best friends with or son of a senator/governor/president
4. Thats about it, partied hard as hell at college but still got my work done (top of class in econ )

Looks at GPA on TLS profile.... No you don't.thalassocrat wrote:1) Not majoring in EE or meteorology like I wanted to when I was younger. History's been fun, but I think engineering would've been too, and I wouldn't feel like my educational path's completely cut me off from that now.

Re: Now that I'm applying here's what I regret
#1. Not going to a cheaper state school. My u-grad is not prestigious enough to get the legendary HYP boost. Might as well save some $.
#2. Not enrolling in a u-grad with A+. This is a nice advantage in LS admissions
#3. Doing Yale LAST rather than FIRST. Yale has tons of extra stuff to go with the application (list out academic awards etc). If I add done my Yale application first, I could have just added all those extras that I spent time on to my other applications (whether they wanted it or not).

1) Wished I would have either gone to the cheap state school, or gone into a service academy
2) Tried my best in undergrad, I'll regret that until the day I die.
3) Deciding to take time to work on PS instead of taking the LSAT a second time.

Re: Now that I'm applying here's what I regret
1) Letting my mother decide which undergraduate school I was going to attend...Yeah, that's a mistake I don't mean to repeat.
2) Not doing more community service.
3a) Taking classes because "I wanted the challenge" even though I'd heard the teachers, as a rule, do not give A grades.
3b) Not dropping those classes.
