Is a future president posting on TLS?

Dear TLS members,
I think there is an over 50% chance that at some point a future president will have been a member of TLS (or at least lurked). I am very proud of the brilliance of our members (for example, of the 8 TLS interns writing content 3 of them have 180 LSAT scores) and know that many of you will go on to achieve great things and several of you will enter politics. I anticipate that Obama would have been a TLS member while applying to Harvard and I look forward to seeing what amazing accomplishments our TLS members will achieve in the future.
I am proud to be part of such a brilliant community and a lot of new content is being added in 2010 to make TLS worthy of such bright members and visitors.

I think it's possible a TLS poster might be a future presidential candidate, until an intrepid reporter digs up ancient posts demonstrating his douchebaggery and he is forced to withdraw.
Such is the way of TLS, it has the power to fell kings.

Yeah, so, I'm never gonna be president then.

Well said. I've thought before that this a site whose visitors are of rare potential power. Whoever it is, remember your roots, and throw me a cabinet position!

When have you ever demonstrated douchebaggery?

I like to think those are too smart to waste their energies on the presidency when biglaw is obviously where all the money is at...

I'm not so sure. After President Palin puts all the "elite" lawyers in jail for life in 2013, it's going to be hard for any of us to run for office.

Dear Itsfine, I appreciate the good wishes, but I think my presidential possibilities will end when my memoirs, Why Do Bad Things Happen to Sexy People? get published (will send off to editors soon). Interesting topics include my streaking a Human Anatomy class while in college in front of 800 students, going to an interesting and intense S & M party, and many drunken nights at dance clubs (One of my sayings is that "Fruit from the tree of knowledge falls as readily at midnight in a dance club as it does at noon in a lecture hall).
That being said, I will have to settle for a Supreme Court nomination, which alas may not make it to confirmation due to the above but at least my famous TLS member and future prez will have tried her hardest.

Whenever someone really deserves it. It may seem an appropriate response, but it's still me being a douchebag.

No, because he had the money and connections to not need advice about law school admissions. You are seriously overestimating the importance of your ugly website.

All I see here is a diverse background with numerous cultural experiences. Could be a positive.

Yes I am. Don't worry, after I have the constitution rewritten, you'll all vote for me.
I promise I won't forget the little people.

Why not revel in the excitement of a more certain prediction: There is basically a 99% chance that a former TLS member or lurker will be a big deal, whether as a Representative, Senator, Governor, SCOTUS Justice, or President. That's a pretty cool thing to think about.
Another thing I'd like to put on the record is that this year "Class of 2013" is going down in law school history folks. Anyone admitted to the Top 20 should be damn proud of himself or herself. It was way easier to be accepted to a top law school just 10 years ago. This has to be the most difficult year on record to be accepted to a law school in U.S. history. (I know bold claims often go challenged here, so have at it, but I think I'm correct here!)

As far as I know Obama wasn't connected or particularly well-off before law school. Clinton grew up poor.
"What [Obama] has achieved in his 48 years is simply astounding. Consider the odds. The United States is a nation of more than 300 million citizens. Only one person is currently the Commander in Chief. That man had no fatherly guidance, is of mixed race, and had no family connections to guide him into the world of national politics. That adds up to one simple truth that every American child should be told: 'If Barack Obama can become the President of the United States, then whatever dream you may have can happen in your life," - Bill O'Reilly.
Can't believe I'm quoting O'Reilly but that quote really moved me when I saw it on the Daily Dish.
I think Ken is right and I am excited about meeting so many remarkable people in the fall.

I think that this underscores the importance of posting annonymously. Or else I personally find that it's very important to behave appropriately if you're disclosing personal information on these threads.
