I think thus far the only people to get accepted are in state auto admits.

I am contemplating applying at WVU here soon, as the cycle ends. Since it is the only law school in the state and pretty inexpensive, it seems like a decent school. Can anyone provide more info.? Job prospects, academics, etc...

I know a few WVU Law grads.

The academics are terrible, and the degree won't get a lot of respect outside of the state unless you're super high in your class. That being said, the biggest firms in West Virginia (which approach midlaw, $70k-80k or so) are chock full of WVU grads. Ditto for government and PI jobs.

A couple biglaw firms (Orrick for sure, and I think one other) have opened doc review centers in WV's northern panhandle which employ mainly WVU and Pitt grads.

Thanks for the info! I have applied to a lot of other schools already and am complete at all of them, but I just feel like I need a few more safeties. Would I be better off attending Cleveland State University if it comes down to it?

If you're an Ohio resident, then probably. Anecdotally(sp?), I hear CSU grads can actually do well in Cleveland since a lot of Case grads leave.

I applied in October and still haven't heard anything. Anyone know when they have started mailing acceptances in previous years?

I got a second email today telling me how to check my status. The actual status hasn't changed - it still says "complete," but now there is a mailing. The mailing is not titled but it was sent out today. Any thoughts on what this means?

Same thing here. Email regarding the status with a mailing date. Anyone know anything about this?

I had a dream last night that the adcom from West Virginia called and rejected me. She called me a fat-ass on the phone and hung up. I was like wtf, I didn't even know West Virginia had a law school.

WVU Law = a very very sad school. Same goes with the UG.

I am from the state. The law school is laughable in terms of academics, same goes with UG. It is unfortunate because it has some potential. However, the law school has been falling apart for the past 10 years due to professors leaving and current professors too concerned with their own agendas than teaching classes. On top of that, the student population is very "red."

I would wait a year, I looked at your numbers and you can definitely do better on the LSAT.

Same here. I'm thinking it is probably just in regards to sending out the status checker (again), since that is the same date we all got the e-mail. We probably have to keep waiting for a bit.
