UCLA App Questions

My PS doesn't say anything about why I want to be a lawyer, while the UCLA personal statement prompt reads as follows:
in this essay you may discuss any matter relevant to your ability to succeed in law school and the practice of law and any attributes, experiences or interests that would enable you to make a distinctive contribution to the law school and/or the legal profession.
i'm thinking at this point its OK to just send them my overcoming obstacles-themed PS. agreed?
also, the optional essay which asks if you believe you would contribute to any of their specializations, the law journal/review, or any special area of research. i don't really have any experiences to write about besides being an activist in several non-hierarchical organizations for the past couple years (meaning i wasn't the leader) and/or being a woman, and i was thinking i could work either/both of those into an essay about the critical race studies program or the law journal. but i feel like it might be a stretch (though i definitely plan on going for the law journal and taking advantage of the critical race studies program if accepted) and seem disingenuous. thoughts?
