This is such a stupid question but I can't find the answer and would absolutely hate to respond to an email the wrong way. Would Dr be appropriate for a director of admissions?

Do they have a Phd?

Often times when I have to write an email to a client whose name could be either gender I just do the following:

"Dear Karman Hsu:"

I can't find anything bio info about them on UCLA's site, and I suppose your suggestion would work, I just didn't know if that would be considered respectful from a prospective student.

If you really must know, couldn't you anonymously call the admissions office and ask?

Karman is female - a very nice lady as well.

karman hsu is great. her emails sound like a person actually wrote them. at this point that's enough to charm the hell out me.

Now it is 2nd on google
