traffic violation

For applications that only generally ask about "offenses," do you think a warning for speeding needs to be disclosed? (NYU's application, for example.)

Probably slightly paranoid, but worth checking, I suppose.

I don't see how this is even worth checking... its a warning. Take a deep breath before you start listing all the times you had detention in high school lol

It depends on the state. Some states classify traffic violations as misdemeanors, in which case for NYU you would have to disclose it, since they do not say "excluding minor traffic violations."

In CA a traffic ticket is an infraction, but I still had to disclose them on the apps for NYU, Minnesota and Penn because their wording didn't make an exception for infractions or minor traffic violations.

If by "warning" you mean that you never got an actual ticket or something that was ever on your record, then no you don't have to disclose it.

ive gotten a stop sign ticket before but i did not disclose it on my apps. as for "warnings" you definitely don't need to
