I'm curious for additional perspectives on the amount of weight that an ug upward trend in grades carries.

My first 2 years of undergrad = quite unfocused. My last 2 years = near perfect w/club president role and D.C. internship to boot.

The cum GPA is obviously what I matters to school's rankings/stats/etc... so I'm wondering how much upward trends can influence admissions.

it's better than a downward trend, but schools don't care much. your best bet is investing a ton of effort into doing well on the LSAT.

An upward GPA trend is a soft factor. It's basically in the same category as personal statements and letters of recommendation. An upward trend is nice to have, and it adds a bit of weight on the scale in your favor, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to your LSAT and LSAC GPA.
