Question for the Engineering Applicants

Are any of you bothering with taking the FE?
I'm considering it just in case I do go back to grad school, but as an EE, 30% of the subject matter on the test we don't touch (i.e. fluid mechanics), so it will require a good bit of outside work. What are you guys planning on doing?

haha Im stalking you... I took it October and passed it. It helps with the patent bar, and that's about it. Secondly, it doesnt take that much to pass. I am actually an engineering technology major (like a tard version of EE) and passed it without studying. What alot of people dont know is that you only need to get about 50% of the questions right to pass. So pick one letter on all the ones you are even slightly unsure about and you should be fine. I was also a math minor so I think that helped. lastly, if you have an ABET accredited BSEE, there is really no reason for you to take it, and most grad schools don't really care unless you went to a no name university

I wouldn't take the time to study for it right now when I could be studying for the the patent bar. I know that I have no desire to go to grad school for engineering so I think studying for the patent bar is a much better use of my time. Good luck if you decide to take it.
