How many pages is 500 words anyway? Are they really sticklers about this, or can I turn in a 2 page deal? My personal statement is like 2-3 pages long...FML.

I had this same issue.

The general consensus is that over 500 words is fine, over 2 pages is not.

2 pages = about 700 words.

I would say you need to cut that down, no matter the school.

Shoot for under 1000 words.

The GW admissions office told me it needs to be no longer than 2 pages double spaced. The word count they give is just a suggestion.

I had almost 700 words. I had to make it 11.5 font in order to fit two pages. I worried about this for a couple nights after sending it, but then I got in ED with a full ride so I am guessing it was no big deal.

Just keep it to two pages.

The only way I can get into two-pages double space is if i use 10 pt font.....is this acceptable....if I use 11 it spills a lil bit onto 3 pages

Mine went over 2 pages by a few lines. Hope it's not a dealbreaker..
