Diversity statement as a dual citizen

So I have a unique situation.
My mother was born and raised in Colombia to Americans. Since she lived there till 18. Growing up I was raised in that culture, and feel it is part of me.
A few years ago as an adult I obtained Colombian citizenship, I am also a US Citizen. So I am Colombian on paper and self identify as one, but am not by blood.
Would writing a diversity statement saying I am Colombian, (but clearly saying I am from the USA) be dishonest?
