Denied acceptance - should i mention that in new PS

I've been denied acceptance for this year, so i'm applying again to the same school and a few others.
My PS story starts with my previous denial. Do you think it's fine or it's better to skip this part? unless schools can see my application history...
Thank you!

The schools already know your application history. I definitely wouldn't put it in your PS, especially not as a starter. Maybe throw it in a "Why [X]" statement, as a sort of "Why I'm a better applicant this time around" thing (you are, aren't you?).

I think it depends on the content of the personal statement. It's a bit risky, but if using that denial as your jumping off point gives you a strong personal statement it's worth it. It can be tricky to write about that kind of thing without coming across wrong, so just be careful and get feedback before you send it in.

Also, if you're writing about getting rejected from school X in your personal statement for schools ABC, you better make it very clear that you're still not really wanting to go to school X.

I certainly hope so... working on my LSAT to retake in December.
