I took the Dec LSAT and I honestly don't know how I did..
should i just enjoy my time with family and assume I did poorly and won't be able to apply? Or should I start writing on my personal statement so I can submit if i somehow did really well ???

You don't have to right this second. But you probably don't want to wait until applications open next year start working on it. For a point of reference, it took me a full year to get to the point I'm at on my PS. Working a bit hear and there and dropping 15+ ideas. It may take you longer than you think, so earlier is better, but it's Christmas, so hang out with your family.

If you're thinking about applying this cycle, then I'd say start scratching out some ideas and maybe outline a PS before you get your LSAT score back (probably even get a rough draft ready). Maybe you did well enough to get into the school you want. It just depends on what you're aiming for and whether you would be ok with waiting to apply for the next school year. Either way don't do anything today if you're celebrating Christmas.

If you intend to apply this cycle, your ps should be done by now.

I have to second the last poster - your PS should have been done by now. General rule of thumb - it is ideal to submit applications before the holiday. Of course, there are rolling admissions, but I don't know if I would chance it. To rush a PS now.... ah. If you have a good idea to run with and can make it work, go for it. I have to agree with another poster that said sometimes you have to eliminate 15+ ideas and work on it almost a full year. I don't think anyone's goal is to scare you - just letting you know it is a lengthy process and just as important as the "score" IMO.
