The final paragraph needs to be revised. As written, it seems that you may be confusing the role of a social worker/counselor with that of an attorney. As an attorney, you may be in a position to help those who enter the legal system, but that will only be for a short amount of time.

A tiny thing: take the word voiceless in the last paragrapgh. I read from one of the deans that its a common pet peeve because it comes off insincere and forced.
Overall, I think its very effective. I agree that describing the type of treatment adds a certain depth to the paper so I wouldn't get rid of that ...maybe shorten the story of the fight in the beginning?

I removed "voiceless." I had never thought of that being cliche, but that totally makes sense. So I should try to cut this down to two pages?

Depends where you're applying...some places specifically ask for it some don't. If they don't ask for two pages i think you would be fine as long as its less than 3 pages
