Out of those two I'd go with #1.bob311 wrote:Hello TLS, been a browser for a few months but finally getting ready for this round of applications.
Long story short, I have started to write a few personal statements and am looking for at least general advice on which topic I should keep working on. I do not feel comfortable posting either on this, but if anyone would like to volunteer to look at either I would appreciate the advice.
Basically the two topics are:
1- My experience as a collegiate all american athlete, now a professional athlete (in a team sport, not a golf/tennis kind of pro as an individual) and how that has all translated into my long time desire of attending law school (clique I know).
2- My experience studying at Oxford as an undergrad for a summer and being at St. Andrews currently studying a Master's in moral, political and legal philosophy.
What I have tried, and failed, is to create a combination of both, but I have yet to be successful. These are also just the brief overall topics.
I would love to hear at least what people have to say about topic choice in general. I have been advised by my undergraduate law pre-law advisor about managing topic #1 without sounding egotistical (because I am the opposite and would not like to come across as ego driven).
Thanks
I also think you could potentially mention 2 in a PS about 1.Cradle6 wrote:Out of those two I'd go with #1.bob311 wrote:Hello TLS, been a browser for a few months but finally getting ready for this round of applications.

I just don't know what you'd say about #2 to really standout.
Just my perspective. #1 would be more personal.
