Way too fragmented. I was confused as hell at the transition between mentoring children and "I gave up after half a mile." Pick one experience and flesh it out.

I would not bring attention to any history of mental instability.
This is also all over the place. It seems like you are throwing out a bunch of cliches hoping that one sticks and makes the whole PS work.
