Why Law School

I already finished my PS, but I was trolling for a while looking at a lot of others out there which sparked a question. Am I a heartless piece of shit for writing a Why Law? essay and not concluding it with the cliche "I want to save the world!" or "I want to advocate for the down-trotted who need help!" My PS revolves more around me wanting to pursue law because I enjoy being analytical, manipulative/persuasive, and strategic. I also love researching and reading a lot of dense material. To be honest, I couldn't care less about saving the world or advocating for the poor. The world is going to hell and back, and I'm just here to play the game.

I think it depends how its written. Make sure you are showing them how you embody those characteristics and also show how you will use your degree.

Concluding that you want to save the world, etc. without some very solid background to support the idea that you're qualified for and interested in that particular line of work wouldn't get you much more than an eye roll and a quick dismissal. Truth resonates; empty platitudes get glossed over. (Assuming that what you really meant wasn't "am I heartless?" but "will I be perceived as heartless?")

Does your PS characterize how you're analytical and strategic, or does it detail that you're a piece of shit?

The former is perfectly acceptable, but keep in mind pompousness isn't a positive trait.
