Your Asian American heritage has had no bearing on your quality of life in the American South? I find that an incredulous claim. As with any statement, you should find specific events that speak to your perspective. I personally would love to hear how you were different from everyone around you in the south, but if you really never felt that way I guess that's not happening. Moving to the US when you're 6 is not a worthwhile topic unless you had some traumatic experience or overcame some major language/cultural obstacle.

I think you need to be cautious when talking about feeling more global than those around you. Even though I'm sure it's true, you might easily come off sounding as if you think you're better than those around you who haven't had those experiences.
Asian in the south seems to be the most obvious way to go with this
