Wondering whether I should include my WWOOF experience on my resume.
I think it is really interesting, but at the same time not sure how it fits into my "(professional) experience." Should I include this or not? I briefly WWOOFed during vacation when I was studying abroad.

+ For those of you who are unfamiliar, WWOOF is an organic farm experience where you work at a farm in exchange for room and board.

Yes, but maybe have a separate section for "volunteering." Or maybe just put organic farming under your interests section. It's a good talking point.

WWOOFing can be controversial. I'm not sure I would include it.

I had originally lumped everything together as experience, now I put all my volunteer work in a separate section and WWOOF works fine with it, thanks
And WWOOF is great, but you need a bit of luck on picking a good farm as well. Hope you get a good one!

It's often not strictly legal in the countries where it is done. Additionally, there's the argument that when American kids travel to poor foreign countries and do menial work for free, it takes jobs away from the people living there and depresses wages.

How is working somewhere in exchange for room and board volunteer experience?

Briefly during vacation when you were doing study abroad? What, like for a week? No, don't include it. No one cares.
