I kind of did the same thing as you, but I did choose to write another statement as a pure diversity statement. For the diversity statement, I really talked about why what I wrote about in my personal statement makes me diverse and how I will bring that diversity to law school, while in my personal statement I framed my diverse history as a personal accomplishment.

I don't know if you are comfortable doing so, but would you consider pm'ing me your two statements? I am having a hard time imagining how I might spin one off into the the other... Thank you!
