How much time you spend revising your PS?

Post by kobe1020 » Sat Oct 26, 2013 1:56 pm

I just want to get an idea from everyone here that how much time they actually take to finish their PS from first draft to final version.

or how many times you spend to revise it?

honesty I feel like I can edit my PS forever. you can always see things differently..

for mine i deleted and started again from memory about four times. now i'm working on smaller revisions in wording and grammar. i could probably spend more time than i have but how many revisions you need probably depends more on your writing ability than a pre-determined amount.

I did 6 drafts. I'm not normally a multiple draft kind of person (I think I did a rough draft once throughout HS and UG), but sending it to other people and having them tear it apart was helpful and forced me to do multiple drafts.

I wrote my PS in a day, got opinions and revised it again. Took me two days to produce something passable... My diversity statement on the other hand, it's been a month of on and off writing and it still sucks.
