How old is too old for a topic?

I'm wondering how far back I should be able to go with my personal statement. I've decided to go with a personal anecdote/story regarding a reporting venture I did back in Fall of 2011. It's pretty distant, but it was formative so far as my analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities go.

Would a two-year-old event be too old? As context, I'm a senior in undergrad looking to apply this fall.
