Why UVA question?

This may be a silly question, but is it acceptable to refer to UVA by its initials in this essay? I feel weird typing out "The University of Virginia" so many times...

Also, any other advice about this essay is welcome, and if anyone would mind looking at it when I finish I would be thrilled.

I remember this issue when applying; I mixed and matched the following:

1. University of Virginia School of Law (1st mention only)
2. Virginia Law
3. Virginia
4. U.Va. Law (note the periods and the capitalization)
5. U.Va.

eta: current UVA student

UVA alumnus here...we use UVA as the acronym, for what it's worth.
