What else is included in the Personal Statement?

Post by DeterminedToOvercome » Tue Dec 25, 2012 1:51 pm

I haven't seen anything stating if I need to include my name and LSAC account # in the header for my personal statement?

Anyone know if this is needed or if it is redundant as it is part of the application file?

1. Check application instructions
2. Email school in question
3. When in doubt, put them on there. Won't hurt

I put my LSAC # only, not my name. For schools where I wrote optional essays, I wrote "personal statement" or "optional essay". If I was only submiting a PS, I just wrote my LSAC # and no other info. There is no reason to waste valuable space with any unnecesssary info.

As bluepenguin noted, always check the Instructions section of the application and review the Prompt that is given on the page where you attach the file. Labeling the document "personal statement" is a good idea if you are submitting multiple attachments, such as a diversity statement or addenda. You should also include page numbers.
