Optional Statements

How important are the optional statements when a school has a certain available program they'd like to ask you about? For example, Chicago-Kent has an IP program they want me writing about. Will something like this suffice or should it be longer, shorter, more in depth, etc?
Thanks!!

When I first thought about pursuing a Juris Doctorate, I needed to give myself a reason before making the three year commitment. It wasn’t difficult to see that Chicago-Kent offers a wide variety of programs and opportunities for students to indulge themselves in. What caught my attention was the exceptional Intellectual Property program as well as the Business program Chicago-Kent offers. With the background I have in technology, I will be able to take advantage of the Business program including the first year courses such contracts to run an online business on a more professional level. As someone very intrigued by the current U.S. patent system especially in the technology sector, the Intellectual Property program will help me understand what it takes for a company like Apple or Microsoft to patent an idea and make sure their ideas are protected.
Thanks!!
