Top Law Schools

I've been debating between about 4 personal statement topics and was wondering if anybody could give me some input on which topic they think would be best (if any):

1) How my internship at a government agency (think department of defense, department of state, etc.) made me interested in public service
2) The ways that I have been shaped by the two very different sides of my family (conservative catholic family meets a family from the deep south... verrry different) in ways that are not immediately apparent when you first meet me
3) An experience I had with an extracurricular activity where I volunteered in an underserved community
4) One that I don't really want to write about but people keep saying I should: how a very bad illness in my family changed my perspective on a lot of things (don't want to go into much detail here, this would be a traditional obstacle essay I suppose)

Do any of these sound good? I've been going between a million different drafts of all of these since June and could really use some help. Thanks!

I think somehow incorporating #2 and #4 (if possible) would be interesting...Like the main theme of the essay would be how your family affected you and how you view the world (and subsequently how that led you to choose the law).

IMHO, it would make for a more dynamic essay than focusing solely on #4 (which might seem to harp too much on pathos).

Just a suggestion.

I am somewhere in this process as well. I have like 10 different drafts on like 4 or so topics (loosely related) and I'm debating which is the best route.
