South-Asian, born internationally, emigrated at age of 6, science major, first law school applicant in family and doing Fulbrite-type research in country of origin where my parents emigrated from.

Should I write a diversity statement even though I'm not URM?

You don't have to be a URM to write a diversity statement. I'm a URM and I had difficulties coming up with a diversity statement and it probably wasn't as interesting as yours will be.

I would mention the science major though....a bit stereotypical.... but the rest sounds like an interesting read.

I'll offer a brief critique if you PM it to me.

P.S. FYI: "Fulbright", not " Fulbrite".

Edit to correct my own spelling. :D

If you're going to correct someone on spelling, make sure you're spelling it right. Fulbright.

P.S. Is that an example of "the blind leading the blind" ?
