Personal Statement on fraternity good or bad

I am sure many of us on here are in fraternities. Being the president of my fraternity i have had numerous experiences that have definitely shaped my experiences as a person and a leader. Is there a stigma against using this concept for my personal statement? Or could it be seen as a positive?
I was wondering what everyone had to think about it.

What specifically would you write about?

My personal statement was about my experience holding leadership positions in the Greek community. You could focus on skills you learned from your experience and explain how those will help you succeed in law school.

if you identify strongly with your fraternity it could work. just avoid the sophomoric bullshit about how the organization does meaningful work because thatll probably come off as young/naive

i go to a small school with 4 fraternities. ours has been kicked off and been there the longest. we still come from a culture where the school and nationals dislikes the chapter (a small sect are not despite the fact that we increase the diversity have the most leaders a very solid gpa etc. i imagine i would tie my story of helping to re vamp our chapter and lead us ya da yada

How did you revamp it? I mean, if it's just a story about how you increased membership or the like I'd suggest looking elsewhere for a topic.

First: 22461016 I messaged you back
Second: the learning experience and the maturation aspect is where my mind is now. being able to make 35 other guys respect the hell out of you is hard work. furthermmore i took us from a chapter where we have skated by and really took us to a whole new level .. maybe this needs more thought.
