In June of 2005, when I was 16 years old, I was charged with petty theft. I returned the item to the police station with my mother and went to court. I had to pay paid a fine, take took a class, and completed 40 hours of community service. I completed my community service at XXXX. The case was expunged.

In the Fall of 2006, during my freshman year in college, I was arrested for being drunk in public. The case was dismissed and I did not have to appear in court. The former was of particular disappointment to myself and my family, but both occurrences were lapses in better judgment and I have not been in any trouble since.

Put the two incidents in separate paragraphs. Leave out the "lapses in better judgement" drama bit.
