so i went to high school at a vocational/trade school, i wasnt able to start college until the spring semester due to my mother getting injured, that lead to me beginning college at a community college, i transferred to northeatern university after 1.5 years at cc. Would that be a good place to start for a personal statement?

I guess, but I don't get why people think they need to do their PS about overcoming some kind of obstacle. Why not just tell a story and show how you shine (unless this does that, in which case, carry on).

Can write about how the experience shaped who you've become? Maybe include it into a story.
