Why does my boyfriend call me his changa ?

Okay so my boyfriends calls me his CHANGA . He is mexican , were both mexican but honnestly am not sure what he means , because a changa is a monkey in spanish . Is he tryna say i look like a monkey . I dont know wether this name he calls me is good or bad ? Please help !! -___-
