Grammar Question

"As a teacher, my mom worked on developing her student’s dreams, as her son, I worked on making mine a reality."

Should there be a comma or semicolon after dreams??

Semicolon. They are two related but independent clauses. You could add a conjunction and keep the comma, but I like the flow a semicolon. A period would create a little more drama, which I might go for if this is the intro or conclusion.
