Consensus on Correcting a PS mistake?

So in an effort to get my apps in as soon as possible I made a small typo on my personal statement (I used an incorrect verb tense, I said "took" instead of "taking". It is pretty innocuous and neither I nor 2 of my proofreaders caught it at first) and I am wondering if there is a consensus on what to do in this situation? Should I contact each of my schools and attempt to correct it or should I just leave it and hope that they will not be too harsh in penalizing me for this?
My numbers are solid, 169, 3.84, and I think it is an otherwise well written statement, so I am hoping they will give me the benefit of the doubt but would it be better to just own up to it and correct it?
