6 years since i graduated, college exp necessary?

Post by YoungProfessional » Thu Nov 17, 2011 10:32 pm

I graduated with my bachelors 6 years ago, and in the process of creating my personal statement (attempt #10) do I really need to tie in my college experiences since I have been in the workforce since college?

I have been reading in these forums (and articles) that its important to inform the admission committee your capability of a "strong academic potential". Help

I don't think this is necessary at all. Has what you've done in the past 6 years required intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, critical decision-making or any other activity indicative of "academic potential?" Focus on what has been the most important to you, and what you can write passionately about.

I'm just a year out of UG and although my PS related to a college activity, it was primarily focused on an extracurricular that showed my leadership ability, creativity, etc. in a way that was mostly unrelated to my academic courses.

Disclaimer: 0L but the admissions process has been good to me so far.
