Addendum concerning grade performance? Yes or no?

Post by hookem12 » Mon Nov 14, 2011 7:22 pm

I received a 3.1 and a 3.2 the two semesters of my freshman year. There were some very challenging family problems throughout that year, and while I now know how to separate myself from these things and not let it affect my grades (as evidenced by the fact that my mother passed away in August and I still took the October lsat and did fine), I didn't back then. Since that year, I haven't received below a 3.8/semester, which means I've received University Honors status each semester. Should I write an addendum explaining the poor performance of my freshman year, or will the upward trend speak for itself? Just wondering - I feel that submitting an addendum where one is not needed would probably work against me.

do not submit an addendum for a 3.1 or a 3.2.

p.s., schools don't care about an upward trend. Your final GPA is all they care about.
