Probably super redundant and been answered before, but I suck at searching. Is it cool to use 11 pt if a font size isn't required? I'm about 3 lines over on to page 3...

i used 11 pt on everything. Oops if this was wrong...

Anything other than 18 point comic sans = auto-ding.

if you're only 3 lines over, i'd just mess with the margins a little or use 11.5 font, or maybe try changing to a slimmer font style that's still professional

well it's okay, im not totally done yet so ill try to get rid of some stuff

11 pt is perfectly fine (unless 12 pt is specified, of course).

My entire app package was in 11 pt, except for headers on my resume and such.

I think 11 pt is on its way to becoming the new standard, since printers are so much more precise and legible than back in the day.

I did in everything in 11 pt, unless the app specified 12 pt

I don't know why, but I still feel paranoid about doing this. But I'm not sure what I can take out of my PS to make it fit on to 2 pages in size 12. (I essentially need to take out like 3 sentences)

A lot of schools only specify "legible font"; Harvard specifies NO LESS than 11 pt. Cornell species no less than 10 pt. The only school I have encountered that seemed to NOT allow 11 pt font was UCLA (required 12 pt. font). Honestly, I don't think you can really tell the difference. Plus, how much time does an AdComm spend with a PS anyways? I have a feeling its not enough for them to say "Hey Hey WTF!? This is CLEARLY 11pt font"

I am sure they can tell after reading hundreds of other statements in size 12. I am not worried if they will be able to tell, I am worried if they will care.

This is my PS. Do you guys think there is anything here that I should take out? (or any other criticisms for that matter)

I really don't think it will be an issue, especially if they don't specify that it needs to be 12 pt font. Plus, with so many people trying to fit their PS in page limits, I'm sure they see 11 pt font all the time.

That being said, I think the first two paragraphs of you PS are a bit extraneous. I think you overly describe the situation. Important Docs in English and your Grandmother only speaks Russian. That's really the only take away point that I need from the first paragraph, but you spend 4 sentences getting there. Also, I don't think we need to know every specific on why you grandmother was being evicted (2nd paragraph). You could probably get your 3 lines from just those two paragraphs.
