Personal Statement Help

This reads more like a diversity statement to me. A diversity statement could make the argument "I've lead a different life"; or, "My childhood was difficult for these reasons"; or, "My family had it hard because..." But the Personal statement should usually make an argument that can be framed by "I am awesome, and here is one or two stories that illustrate my excellent character." Also, a personal statement should focus on who you are as an adult. Adcomms want to know who they're getting right now, today.
